Kerstin Diehn is the founder of 501c Design, a graphic design studio dedicated to helping nonprofit 501(c)(3)s and progressive 501(c)(4)s advance social good. Over the past 20 years, she has built sustainable design partnerships with mission-driven organizations, using strategy and creativity to help them raise awareness, foster momentum, and drive positive change.

Kerstin currently serves as fractional Art Director at Common Cause and previously held roles as Art Director at The Progressive and Product Designer at Daily Kos. She also teaches graphic design at Seton Hall University and leads design and branding workshops for the Nonprofit Help Desk. Her teaching experience includes the Art Institute of New York, FIT, and Pace University. She holds an M.S. in Communication Design from Pratt Institute and a B.A. in Literature from American University.

Beyond her client and teaching work, Kerstin volunteers as a designer with Civic Power of Change, an organization that connects communications professionals with down-ballot progressive candidates.

Since launching her business in Brooklyn, she’s moved a few times, gotten married, had two children—and cycled through more than a few cats.
