Stories Without Borders

Stories Without Borders is an evening of live storytelling that celebrates the voices and experiences of immigrants in our community. Modeled after Listen to Your Mother and The Moth, the event features personal stories of resilience, belonging, and hope—all shared from the stage. Proceeds benefit Make the Road NJ, supporting immigrant rights advocacy and legal aid. More than a fundraiser, it’s a night to listen, reflect, and honor the richness immigrants bring to our shared lives.

Storytellers Wanted for Stories Without Borders!

We’re seeking storytellers — neighbors, advocates, community members, and anyone with a lived immigrant experience to share — for an evening of powerful, personal narratives that celebrate resilience, belonging, and hope. First, second, third, or later generations are welcomed; a non-immigrant / Native American perspective on immigration is also encouraged.

  • No prior performance experience needed!

OPTION 1: AUDITIONS to be held on Feb 15, 2026 at the Baird Community Center

  • Prepare a 3–5 minute story that you pitch or read aloud

  • This personal story should be centered on your lived immigrant experience — a moment of resilience, identity, culture, community, belonging, or hope. We’ll help shape and polish the piece if you’re selected.
